AYUSH hospital

The Programme Officer AYUSH assists the Director of Health Services in planning, implementing & monitoring all the Ayush Programmes/activities.

The Heath schemes under AYUSH are:

1. UT Health Schemes.
2. National AYUSH Mission (NAM), Central Sponsored Scheme (CSS), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

Benefits of the Scheme :

i).To provide cost effective and equitable AYUSH health care thoughout the A&N Islands by improving access to the services.

ii).To revitalize and strengthen the AYUSH systems making them as prominent medical streams in addressing the health care of the society.

iii).To promote the adoption of Quality standards of AYUSH drugs and making available the sustained supply of AYUSH raw-materials.

 

AYUSH Hospital at Port Blair

At Port Blair, stand alone referral AYUSH Hospital is functioning since 2005 which caters the public need of Ayurveds, Panchakarma & Physiotherapy, Homeopathy & Yoga Therapy.

AYUSH Doctors-Involvement :

1) OPD, IPD care.

2) National Health Programmes.

3) Clinical Research & Surveys.

4) RKS/Hospital Management Committee.

5) Training of ANMs/ASHAs.

6) Supervision of Anganwadies, Sub Centres, Mid Day Meal.

7) School Health Programmes.

8) Reporting.

9) IEC Activities :

    i) TV Health Talks

   ii) Radio Programmes

   iii) Health Talks.

Camps :

1.Regular Tribal Health Surveys & Camps in collaboration with CCRAS.

2.Regular outreach Health camps by AYUSH units.

3.Yoga awareness & demonstration at 25 schools (South Andaman) covering 11500 students during 2014-15.
